Pay Per Mile Limited was founded in early 2006 by chief executive Russell Faulkner. The Company was established to exploit the growing opportunity for onboard vehicle devices,(also known as ‘Telematics’) which, using the latest mobile phone technologies, communicate with a central computer system.
The data captured includes live recording of position, speed, direction, engine performance indicators and driver emergency alerts. Instructions which can be sent to the device include remote immobilisation and programming instructions to allow for product upgrade. This data can be utilised across a spectrum of market sectors including pay per mile insurance, pay per mile rental and leasing, vehicle security, congestion zone, toll road and motorway charging leading to pay per mile road fund licensing.
CUSTOS is the brand name for Pay Per Mile Limited’s Telematics Solution. CUSTOS has been developed to a prototype stage by technical director and co-founder John Hyde. The design for CUSTOS came about as a result of extensive market research and subsequent market testing.
The CUSTOS Solution has been deliberately engineered from the outset to meet precise market requirements as measured in discussions with target customers such as the major vehicle insurers, vehicle leasing companies, car and commercial fleet operators and the car rental firms. |
