Driver Management
The CUSTOS telematics units produce a vast amount of information. Without a system that displays this in a useful manner this can become overwhelming for any fleet manager. CUSTOS has invested a lot of time researching what fleet managers need most and has produced a customisable and modular solution. The main page shows all vehicles, their current location and speed. From this it is possible to produce the following reports.
Each journey is recorded and viewable on a map with a 'snail trail' of the route taken. For more detail see our screenshots.
Reports generated include:
- Speeding
- High risk hours (11pm-6am, or user defined)
- Total hours driven
- Breaks taken
- Start/End of day
- Weekend usage
Another useful resource of the CUSTOS telematics system is geo-fencing. This allows for an imaginary fence of any size to placed anywhere in the UK. If a vehicle enters or leaves this zone it immediately sends an email alert informing you of a geo-fence violation.

Duty of Care
Tight management and tracking controls help employers fulfil their legal ‘duty of care’ with confidence.
It ensures employees ‘work in a healthy and safe environment at all times as far as is reasonably practicable’ (1999 Health and Safety at Work Regulations).
Vehicle data pinpoints potential risks and helps avoid them, such as driving when tired or unreasonable driving schedules.
Evidence of legislation compliance helps to prove innocence against potential accusations.
Monitoring of vehicle maintenance via ‘MOT Due’ and service interval notifications.

Cost Saving (A Case Study)
An unexpected but welcome by-product of adopting the CUSTOS system to monitor your duty of care liability is a reduction in cost.
Our customers have noted that as drivers realise that their driving is being monitored, their speed has reduced and their driving style has improved. This in turn has shown a direct cost saving in both fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear.
In one example a customer who had a number of large long wheel base vans discovered an employee driving home at 2 pm on a Friday in excess of 90mph! Following disciplinary action this individuals driving habits changed resulting in a drop in the vehicle’s fuel consumption by 20%.
